Tim’s Taste of Paradise

3.00

Tim’s Taste of Paradise is an unusual cherry tomato that has yellow fruits bursting with flavours.

This hardy variety is relatively closely related to wild tomatoes and is quite vigorous and sprawling. Do not be surprised if it reaches 3-4 m in good conditions. It will keep being productive until the winter frost terminates the plant. Anecdotally we note that in 2025 it was the last tomato fruiting in our greenhouse.

The yellow tomatoes grow on vines and have an attractive appearance similar to sweets on display. However, it is the surprisingly big flavours that has made it popular. It has very rich and complex favours with sweet tropical fruit notes and low but complementary notes of acidity. If you like the classic yellow cherry Sungold it is very likely that you will like and possibly prefer Tim’s Taste of Paradise.

It is ideal for snacking fresh off the vine or in salads, side dishes or charcuterie boards.

It also has an interesting history being saved from being a lost variety. It was initially created in the late 1990s by Tim Peters, a prolific tomato breeder located in Oregon (USA) as an experimental variety called “Fruity Mix” which was popular among niche growers.

Tim crossed multiple wild tomato varieties with garden varieties to create the Fruity Mix. However, when Tim closed his company in the early 2000s all his hard work was thought to be lost with no new seed being produced. Fortunately, 17 years later one package of Tim’s seeds was found in a seed collector’s freezer and from only 3 germinating seeds the variety was resurrected.

It was re-released under the name Tim’s Taste of Paradise in 2022 by Wild Boar Farm in honour of its original creator, Tim Peters.
