Garden Pearl

Garden Pearl is a classic dwarf tomato bred for hanging baskets, window boxes, balconies, and patio containers. They looks fantastic when cascading over the edge of a pot.

This is an early and hardy cherry tomato that grows well outdoors in a sunny and sheltered spot.

The eye catching fruits are round and turn bright red when fully mature. The skin is tender and the flesh juicy. The flavours are mild, well balanced and very pleasant for fresh eating.

It should be noted that even though it is a small plant it produces a lot of tomatoes.

Additional information
It is a popular variety with a somewhat unclear origin. Some sources claim it originated in Germany where it is called “Gartenperle”, others point to Russia where it is known as “Sadovaya Zhemchuzhina” (Garden Pearl).

Wherever it originally came from it is now a widely adapted heirloom variety with localised names, e.g. “Perle des Jardins”, “Perla del Giardino”, “Pérola do Jardim”, “Trädgårdspärla” etc.
