Green Zebra

3.00

Green Zebra is an interesting, relatively new variety that produces lovely looking tomatoes with green skins and yellow stripes. The tomatoes are of medium size (80-100 g), fleshy but slightly firm with 2-3 seed cavities.

This tomato stands out for both its appearance and flavour. It has a good balance of tart and sweet tomato flavours with some fruity notes making this a tomato that chefs probably will find interesting.

Since this is a green tomato it is a bit harder to determine when it is ripe. We also found that it is a medium to slightly late variety and you have to wait a bit before it ripens, but it will be worth it. It begins to be ripe when the stripes shift to yellow and the fruit softens up a bit. Sample some to know for sure. That’s part of the fun.

The flavours and looks of this tomato make it great to use on its own, as a garnish on a plate or in salads mixed with other tomatoes.

It is one of the tomatoes we will grow again for sure.

It was introduced to the world in 1983 by Tom Wagner of Tater Mater Seeds in Washington, USA.
