Cool Customer is a great modern pickling cucumber developed in USA by professor J. Navazio.
Navazio selected cucumbers for flavour, yield and improved resilience to create a great modern improved variety that grows well in organic systems, as well as conventional ones.
This is a very productive variety with 10-12cm long somewhat chubby fruits. The cucumbers have thick crunchy and flavourful flesh with relatively small seed cavities. The cucumbers also are less likely to “yellow” if left longer on the vine than some other varieties. All good qualities for pickling style cumbers.
This is a variety that can be grown both indoors and outdoors and it typically gives good crops well into autumn if harvested continuously.
It can be eaten fresh as a snack but we typically pickle it and make relish of it.
